North Capitol Main Street’s Art All Night: Made in DC presents “A Different World”:

In “A different world” you’ll be surrounded by the muses of DC creatives. Find out what influences artists from kung-Fu to cocktails, from Vogue to Broadway, and much more. Our festival will divulge the inspiration shaping DCs social culture and the influencers making it happen! We will activate a melting pot of local artists focusing on DC’s past and present social landscape, through art, dance, film, music and installations. Unlike any other DC neighborhood, North Capitol boasts multiple outdoor experiences and installations to accompany activations in neighborhood businesses. Escape to a neighborhood like none other, join us for “A Different World.”

TITLE OF EVENT:  A Green World

TIME: 7- 11 PM


Explore artwork on display by students from nearby schools or participate in arts and crafts activities at the space adjacent to Bacio Pizzeria’s patio, in the heart of the Bloomingdale neighborhood of Washington, DC. Bring your kids by for art activities and workshops offered by art teacher extraordinaire, Tasia Joseph.



Make Your Stamp on the World: Individuals will be asked, “What is the change you would like to see in the world?”. While they consider their answer, a workshop on creating their own stamp will be held. Participants will create their own design for a stamp. A pre-outlined image of a hand holding a heart is hung from a nearby wall; which participants will fill in using their stamps.

TITLE OF EVENT:  House of Cards

TIME: 7pm – midnight


The opening credits sequence of the hit TV series, House of Cards, features several prominent shots of the North Capitol neighborhood along North Capitol Street, between R Street and T Street. Let’s pause that shot, focus in on the image, and get a sense of what these streets north of the nation’s Capitol consist of. Catch a variety of street art projections by the Foam Collective as well as live painting and mural art. If you’re hungry, neighborhood favorites, Jam Doung Style Cuisine and Pub and the People, will be open until late.



Live Liquid Light Show and Projection by The Foam Collective   –   Team Leader Wendell Adkins learned his techniques from seasoned 60’s era Washington DC Liquid Light Show artists in the 90’s experimental art and film community. We are honored to carry the torch of this amazing art form on for future generations to enjoy.

TIME: 7 pm – 3 am


CAN I KICK IT? is a unique film event catered to the lovers of kung-fu flicks, music and

everything else in between. At each event we screen a select cult-classic martial arts film that is

scored live [scene-by-scene] by a DJ 2-Tone Jones who mixes elements of Funk, Soul, Hip-Hop,

Rock, Jazz and more! The DJ uses an array of techniques and sound bites to accentuate

different moments in the film ranging from aggressive fight scenes to subtle love scenes.

Beyond the film itself, there are other elements involved that truly make CAN I KICK IT? a fun,

interactive experience. Enjoy a variety of food trucks on hand with offerings that complement each film, giving away SHAOLIN JAZZ fortune cookies with quotes inside from notable martial arts films and musicians, and hosting a movie trivia with prizes to

giveaway towards the end of the event.


Art on Display:

Alongside the movie event, explore a variety of local artists and vendors at the #NorthCapontheMap Arts Market. Support shopping small and walk amongst one of a kind artists and makers.


Pop Up Spots:

Check out Wicked Blooms Frozen Margarita Bar and Beer Garden inside the lot next to a few of DC’s favorite and unique food trucks.

Lastly, check out the Lime Bike tent so you can check out a scooter and take it to your next destination in “A Different World”.

In the new commercial real estate property at Truxton Circle, The Art of a Drink experience provokes all of the elements that go into the cocktail culture of DC. Learn the mastery of creating signature cocktails while you enjoy tastings, sounds of live jazz, and visuals in this unique art gallery experience. The Art of a Drink:

adrinkwithfriends is a collection of socialites who influence the urban community and entertainment scene in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. Since 2011, adrinkwithfriends has created highly anticipated events with the goal of exposing clients to new and or unique venues throughout Washington, DC through music and drinks. They host the Art of a Drink to showcase the incredible mixologists DC has to offer while educating its guests about the drink culture. If you’re hungry or thirsty, there are plenty of infamous neighborhood favorites, Tyber Creek, Crisp Kitchen & Bar, Bacio Pizzeria, Aroi Thai, Truxton Inn and more will be open until late. Be sure to pick up your program from the Welcome Center so you can follow the Bar Crawl Suggested Route and get to know our local businesses while viewing the local artist galleries being showcased outside or inside.
